What size tubes do you make?
Fluortek, Inc. is a custom extruder, predominantly for the medical OEM market. Our typical OD size range is from 0.010" to 0.500".
What dimensions do I need to get a quote?
You will need OD, ID, Length and their respective tolerances. Additionally, quantity and material type will be needed to complete the quote.
I only want a few tubes, how can I get them?
We may have sales samples that meet or are near your required specifications. Otherwise, a minimum run purchase will be necessary. A minimum run will cover the cost of time and materials to perform a single production run.
I am not sure what I need, can you help me?
We offer R&D runs, which buy time and materials for a recommended number of hours or shifts to give you a variety of samples to choose from.
What materials do you offer?
We offer fluoropolymer extrusions in PTFE, FEP, ETFE, PFA, PVDF, EFEP, PCTFE, and ECTFE. We offer thermoplastic extrusions in Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polyurethane, Pebax®, Polycarbonate, Nylon, PEEK and more. We are not opposed to trying new materials for you.
What if you are not sure you can produce what I need?
In most cases we will know and tell you immediately if we can or cannot produce what you need. In some instances when we are uncertain if your specifications will work we may offer a Best Effort Run. This will buy time and materials to attempt a production run of your product where we will make every effort to meet your specifications.
What tolerances can you hold?
On melt processable materials we can hold down to ±0.001". On PTFE we can hold down to ±0.0005" in some cases.
What if I need my parts in a hurry?
We offer expedite runs which carry their own additional fees. The fees will depend on the effect it has on our production schedule in conjunction with any fees Fluortek may incur from our suppliers (i.e. tooling, spools, material, etc. expedite fees).
I don't want a production run; can I just buy a few pieces of tubing off of your shelf?
We are a custom extruder and therefore do not stock any standard sizes on our shelf. However, we may have sales samples to offer you that meet or are near your required specifications. Otherwise, a minimum run purchase will be necessary.
How long will it take to get my tubing?
This depends on a lot of variables including size, quantity, material, difficulty, secondary operations, established run history, etc. Typical lead times can fall anywhere between 2-8 weeks.
What don't you do?
Fluortek does not produce silicone, PVC tubes, or tubing with outer diameters larger than 0.50".
Who are some of your customers?
Fluortek, Inc. is a supplier to many of the major OEMs of medical devices/equipment across the globe. Additionally, we supply to a multitude of smaller operations. We do not disclose our customer lists for confidentiality and security reasons.

How can I get the best pricing?
There are several ways to reduce your prices on tubing. The first is volume! There are certain set costs that go into each run. Spreading these costs out over 100 versus 1,000 versus 100,000 tubes will show cuts to the individual tube costs. Another key to reducing cost is the tolerances on your product. Generally the tighter the tolerances the lower the efficiency during the production run, essentially increasing production costs and therefore increasing your price per tube. Over specifying is one of the leading reasons for higher prices. Material also plays a large role in the cost of your tube. If you are working on developing a new product or lowering the cost of an existing product ask our Engineering department for advice on alternate, cost effective materials!
